Each episode is built around a simple but radical idea: that the Caribbean your travel agent sells you is only the surface. What lies beyond it — the food, the traditions, the people who actually live there — is far more interesting. The series uses stunning cinematography to contrast the familiar imagery of resort tourism with the intimate, unscripted moments that only come from going deeper.
