Because Someone Gives follows four children — each diagnosed with a different condition, each supported through their journey by SickKids Hospital — and asks audiences to sit with what that journey actually looks like. Not the sanitised version. The real one.

As a father, I could not approach this project without feeling the full weight of what those families had been through. Directing it meant holding space for stories of profound vulnerability while keeping the camera steady, the storytelling honest, and the emotion earned rather than manufactured. What came back to me through this work was not just gratitude for the opportunity to tell these stories — but a renewed intentionality about my own children and the time I have with them.

This film is a reminder of what commercial work can be when a brand trusts a director to go somewhere real.
