Albert Hugh “Bobby” Barrocks
1954 – 2025
Albert Hugh “Bobby” Barrocks passed away peacefully at his home in Hamilton, Ontario, on July 31, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by faith, creativity, and service.
A gifted photographer for over 40 years, he captured weddings, portraits, and daycare moments with warmth and excellence, while also serving as the official photographer for the Church of God Eastern Canada and the Church of God of Prophecy. He broke barriers as one of the first Black supervisors at Toronto Hydro, launched Bobby’s Jamaican Cooking Show on YouTube, and became an executive producer on the films A Letter From the Fathers and Sugar Dumplin’.
Bobby is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie; his children, Albert Hugh Jr., Sheldon, Tristan, and Amarah-Cree; his grandchildren—Adonai, Justice, Kava, Kamay, Uahsuf, Matthias, Hope-Alexis, Shiloh, Zephtan, Zien, and Kiah—and the family dog, Chai. He is also survived by his aunt and second mother, Elvelena DeCosta; his sister, Hirfa Clarke; and his brother, Landy Clarke.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 22, at Brampton Funeral Home & Cemetery. A celebration of life service will follow on Saturday, August 23, at 11:00 AM at Peel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Brampton.
